NOC Roust About!

I'm am now a future NOC (Norther Oklahoma College) Roust About!
I know you're just burning to know how it happened, so here it is!
The other day, Wednesday or Thursday, I went shoe shopping with my mother  : ) And out of all the people that could have been working at the store that day, a lady named Abby was. We start to look around the store and try pairs of shoes on and she comes over to help us, after a bit of looking she shows me the EXACT pair I was dreaming of and a conversation ensues about shoe colors and the Gala at NOC. Cut to her telling us that Roust Abouts are still needing some people and that I should go audition! I thought that was a great idea so I naturally called administration and soon I was talking to Dana!
Dana, is a crazy, lovely lady and she was very sweet and enthusiastic over the phone when she told me that all the vocal slots for the Roust Abouts were filled, but they happened to need a guitarist! I told her that my skill level was probably too low to play for them, but she said to go ahead and come audition. the next hours of my life were full of song sorting and guitar practice. I decided to sing and play I will Glory in My Redeemer from church and I'm glad that I didn't think twice about it!
All went well when I played, as far as I could tell anyways, then I left the room so they could talk. When I came back I had to sight read a little, which I had hoped I wouldn't have to do, but I survived : ) and THEN they asked me to play on an electric guitar as well. When I was finished, I left the room again. Let's just say that I was pretty nervous at that time, but I went to the green room and had an absolutely great time visiting with the Roust About group. It was amazing being accepted and welcomed by all of them!
Long story short, I called yesterday to see if I could audition vocally, and got a guitar AND vocal audition TODAY!!!! I think I had 24 hours, if that much, to prepare, sleep and audition!
I guess the real reason I wanted to write this is to thank all of you for your faith in me and you prayers for me : ) I don't think I could have done it without you all : )

Yes, I have holes in my mouth, what of it?

In case you didn't know, I had my wisdom teeth out last week on Thursday. It went quite well; very well compared to what I had envisioned in my head, (drills breaking and slicing my tongue off, that sort of thing) but still, I have not been a happy camper for the last week.
First of all, I like being able to chew! And when you take that away from me, my life starts a downward slope.
Second, I really like being a normal human NOT on narcotic pain meds. And when you put those pills in your body you cannot be responsible for what you do, or do not, do! So really it's not my fault that I don't quite remember everything that happened last week... right? : )
ANYWAYS the good thing about feeling bed is that you appreciate the good time so much more! So today I appreciate the fact that I feel well enough to go and intern at the art center.
Did I tel you that I'm interning again? This time I'm teaching a pottery class! How cool is that? It's a lot of fun, but very tiring. I get to stand up and walk from station to station for three hours while trying to make eight year-olds understand that a big lump of clay needs to be turned into something beautiful that WONT explode in the kiln, but art is art and children will be... children! The kids that I teach are all real sweethearts, which is good, because I don't think I would be sane right now if they weren't : )
Well there is a life to be lived off of this computer, so farewell for now!

Some are born with questions,
Some discover questions,
Others find questionaries on a slightly older blog and then copy and paste...
As you might have guessed, I'm the last of these.

If I were a gemstone, I'd be a Topaz.
If I were a scent, gardenia with a spritz of citrus.
If I were a pair of shoes, I'd be a pair of cute and comfy flats.
If I were the weather, I would be a beautiful rainy day in the scottish country side.
If I were a facial expression, I'd be a grin.
If I were a car, I would have a sun roof.
If I were a time of day, I would be the light that's left right after the sunset.
If I were a month, I would be November.
If I were a place, I'd be a country road in Montana with mountains on one side and plains on the other.
If I were a liquid, I would be a sweet aromatic coffee.
If I were a taste, I'd taste the same as Zucchini bread.
If I were an animal, I'd be a tame white tiger.
If I were an a sea animal, I would be a seahorse.
If I were a food, I'd be a twice-baked potato.
If I were a color, I'd be carmine (a dark, creamy red).
If I were a dessert, I'd be a smore.
If I were a musical instrument, I'd be an acoustic guitar.
If I were a flower, I'd be an orange calla lily.
If I were a song, I would be 'Over the Rainbow' by Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole.
If I were a planet, I'd be Mercury.
If I were an object, I would be the highest musical note in the score of The Phantom of the Opera.
If I were a fruit, I'd be
a gala apple.
If I were a sound, I'd be the sound of rain drops  on the window pane.
If I were a day of the week, I would be Wednesday.

Tada! I am fin!
I found this on my dear friend's blog, who, I think, found it on another of my friends blogs.
I'm not sure how old it is, but I had fun going through the questions.
So now you know what I think of myself, what do you think?

Gratefulness

Ok, I'm back.
Well I hope I'm back. I might start typing this post and completely space out and not post this post. Here goes nothing.

So I was going through all my precious belongings like:
- paper on which I had written a few sentences and then placed in a stack (consequently to be lost for a few months)
- doodles of leafs, fairies and strange multi-sided figures
- jewelry that I didn't even know I was missing
- receipts from two years ago (no joke)
- some of my dress designs

All of theses great things, otherwise known as junk or clutter, are dear to my heart.... well, maybe not. But I seem to have these great ideas, write them down and then forget them! How like me.

When I looked at all I had rediscovered I couldn't believe that:
1) I kept all those receipts.
2) I doodled that much during Algebra 2.
3) I had forgotten almost everything that I found.

If I forget these small things, how ungrateful is it of me to forget all the blessings in my life!!!
I forget to thank God for things all the time,  please tell me I'm not the only one. I forget to thank him for family when I'm annoyed at them, even though I love them; for water when I'm not thirsty, though I would die without it, and for shoes when my toes are being pinched. How do we forget that He gives us EVERY BREATH??? How many times have I breathed in and out while composing this post? And I have not thought about it until now!

One of my New Years Resolutions (NYR) was to remember to be grateful more often, (there was another one about meeting Kieth Urban, but we won't talk about that one right now :) but it's the beginning of March, and I don't think I'm doing so hot... Does writing about a NYR in a blog help to complete that resolution? Probably not, oh, well...

I Google-ed 'how to be grateful' and found these top five things to be grateful for from a web site-

1. You live in peace
2. You have your loved ones
3. You have good friends
4. You are healthy
5. You have enough financially

I would like to shift everything down one spot though, and make it-
1. You have been given salvation, you don't have to earn it
2. You live in peace
3. You have your loved ones
4. You have good friends
5. You are healthy

So in order to be more grateful I'll start with the latter of the a fore said lists, yea!

1. I am grateful that I have received grace and mercy from the Creator of everything that exists! And by grace through faith I am saved!
2. I am grateful that I am blessed to live in a country where I am free and to have men and women who give their lives to protect that freedom.
3. I am grateful that I have people whom I love and who love me no matter what.
4. I am grateful for my great friends who laugh with me... sometimes at me so I won't get a
5. I am grateful for my good health, and even more grateful for my good health when I don't have it.

By the way- I have discovered that I have a liking for lists! I seem to list everything now! Things I need to do, places I want to go, stuff I need to get. Lists are going to rule the world with how cool they are!!! The beat ice cube 3 to 1!!!

So there's the first post for 2011! Finally! Woohoo!!

Favorite Actors!

Here are some of my top pics for actors :)
We start with one of my new favorites-

Andrew Lee Potts

He played the part of hatter in the Syfy channel's Alice.

He was very good! SO GOOD!!!! He was hilarious! I suggest the movie for those who don't mind modern fairy tales!

Next,

Cary Grant

Let just say that he is awesome.

I have yet to see a movie of his that i did not love. Did you know he only had one front tooth? That's why everyone loved his smile! At least that's what my brother says...... If I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first time ;)

And now,
Hugh Jackman!!!!!!!

"An Aussie, playing an Australian, in the movie called Australia." - Himself
It was GOOD!

He also played Curly in the London (i think) production of Oklahoma!!!!!!!! How sweet is that? He can sing, he can dance, he can act! Triple threat!

Oh, he also looks like another Aussie that is pretty awesome-
Keith Urban! Don't you agree?

See, I told you they look alike!

See if you can guess from the pictures, he is quite famous, after all.

Johnny Depp!

Here he is in Benny and Joon, as Sam :) That's a fun one with great music!

And you would have to be a hermit if you didn't know this character of his. Why, it's Captain Jack!

Here he is as Ichabod Crane in Sleepy Hollow... that one is a little morbid. Ok, really morbid, but I liked it.... is that bad? :)

Ans last, but not least, Mad Hatter..... AHHHHH-Mazing actor! Try to count how many times he changes accents in that movie!

Jimmy Stewart!

He's just plain GREAT!

It's a Wonderful Life. No, really, it is!

Russell Crowe

Ahhh, from a cute smile...

... to mad face and weapon!
If you haven't seen Robin Hood (known affectionately to some as 'Gladiator 2') you should! I loved it :)

Here he is Max Skinner, a stock broker and part time waiter when he's on vacation! :)
Well, these are the top few I could think of right now. Someone will probably talk about a movie tomorrow and I'll think "I forgot that one!", but this will do for now :)

I wish that I could act as well as these guys do. But I'm glad that they're in these movies.

God has blessed me so much in my lifetime... I've only been alive eighteen years, but I've never worried about clothing, food or shelter.
He is an AWESOME GOD. He is above ALL else. He cares for everyone! He cares for me.

Thankfulness, Day Fourteen, Thanksgiving Day!

   Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

   Today I'm thankful for relationships.

I don't think I could live without relationships. Can you imagine waking up in the morning and not having anyone to say goodmorning to? Not seeing anyone at all before you start school? I love friends and family, and my life would stink without them.

And the best thing of all? God created humans for a relationship with him! He created ME to know HIM! That's (or should be) the reason I do anything and everything that I do.

God sent his Son to take my punishment for my sin, he didn't have to, but he did because he loved me so much. He died for me, an imperfect sinner. That's the thing I'm most thankful for; Christ loving me.

   Have a blessed holiday!
