Pirates of Penzance!

If you're a friend of mine, you probably know that I LOVE musicals! And recently this is the one that's been going through my head...

It might be because I've watched it three times in the last week... or just because it's HILARIOUS! For whatever reason, I can't get the songs out of my head, not that I mind :)

If you've never heard of this musical, you need to see it! I've already told you the story line of one movie, but you so I wont bore you again ;) Just trust me, it's great :) Here are a fer photo's for you to preview :)

The Pirate King

Maybelle and Fredrick

The Pirate Queen

The Major General

A Paradox

When I watch musicals I wish that my life could be one. I wish I could burst into song and no one would give me those "you're crazy" looks (and trust me, I've gotten quite a few)

Life really is too short to be boring, so why not have a ton of fun?  I like to be crazy when on one's looking, but what about when someone is? I think that there's probably a fine line between having fun and still being a witness for Him and having fun just because you want to be noticed... I wish I could say that I walk that fine line all the time, but I bet I can't. Thankfully I don't have to be perfect, I just need to try my best, repent when I'm wrong, and try again. :)

 There's a reason why it's called

Guitar, but Mostly The Man from Snowy River :)

So, Guitar, my favorite instrument! I play the guitar, maybe not well, but I try : ) My dream is to be as good as Brad Paisley and Keith Urban one day. The only thing that’s stopping me, you ask? Well in one word… Practice.
I’m not good at practicing. I fail miserably! I love to play my guitar, don’t get me wrong, but I never want to try anything new. Like with bar chords! (Chords where you have to press one of your fingers on all the stings at one time. They’re really hard, but probably the most useful) It took me SOOOOOO long to learn my first bar chord! And it’s most likely the easiest! Oh, well.
I also play the piano some. My views on the piano are a little different than what I think about guitar. If I find a song I completely love and want to play, then I’ll sit down and try to learn it in a  few days, and once I have it down, I’ll play it for half a year : ) ‘til I find a new one.
Right now I’m playing the theme song from “The Man from Snowy Rive”. Which is AMAZING!!!! I strongly suggest that you listen to it RIGHT NOW if you’ve never heard it! Or just watch the movie! It has great music, good acting, horses and it’s in Australia!!! How could someone NOT like it a little? Come on, you know you want to see it now! ; )
The Man from Snowy River and Return to Snowy River (the sequel) are two of my favorites! They’re the kind of movie that I can watch over and over and never get tired of them!! I guess they are just my kind of movie…
Spoiler Alert! I will talk about how the movie ends! So go watch it already! :P

  •  The Underdog (named Jim Craig in these movies) gets trampled on by everyone who’s “above” him in the world, and they can’t see what he’s worth.
  •  The Underdog falls in love with someone (Jessica, or Jess, for short) who’s completely out of his league.
  •  Underdog shows everyone how AWESOME he is and everyone who talked down to him before has to eat their words..
  •  The Underdog gets the girl, gets the respect he should have had in the first place and wins in the end :)
Now that is what makes a good movie! Can you tell that I’m a hopeless romantic yet? Yeah, I know that real life does not go as planned, and sometimes the bad guys win, but if you don’t expect the best, than how can you look forward to anything?
Well, now that I’ve bored you out of your mind telling you about a movie that you have probably already seen or never want to see, I’ll get back to reality, end this post, and go teach some kids ho w to draw some great owls or something :)

OH!! Before I go! I painted my nails today!! Zebra Stripes, baby!
    Talk to you soon!

OK, here we go, starting with a subject that I love!
Music!
I love music! I wish my life could be a musical sometimes! Music can express EVERY emotion in someones heart. Just look at a few examples:
  • Adventure- The whole sound track for the Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Sorrow- Walking After Midnight by Patsy Cline (A low blow, I know, but true)
  • Happiness- Smile by Uncle Kracker
  • Love- L O V E by Michael Buble (duh)
  • Anger- Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood
  • Hope- Dream a Little Dream of Me by Mama Cass (or the Glee rendition, I love both :)
  • Loneliness- Hey There Delilah by the Plain White T’s
I think that covers quite a bit :)

When I listen to Patsy Cline, I want to cry along with her. It's a little embarrassing, I admit, but it's true. But Michael Buble is a completely different matter! When he's singing and the trumpets come in strong, I feel like I could soar!

Well that's enough about me and my music, they never said your first blogging post had to be long, did they? No? OK then, short it will be :)

So what do YOU think of music? I DARE YOU to find at least one song that will match each of the separate emotion that I listed above, and more if you can think any!

~ I'll conveniently restate the list so you wont forget ~
  • Adventure
  • Sorrow
  • Happiness
  • Love
  • Anger
  • Hope
  • Loneliness
I can't wait for the COMMENTS!!! (hint, hint) :P
